Explore SDSU Open House is just over a week away, and like we said before, this is an event you don’t want to miss. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 20, you will have the opportunity to visit countless college sessions, tours, and organization booths. This week we have five tips that will help you get the most out of your day.
Tip #1 – Plan and Prioritize
Before you get to SDSU make a list of the top things you want to see and schedule accordingly. Take advantage of special events and remember that activities like the campus tour can also be scheduled on other days. Look into parking tips and arrive early so you don’t miss a minute of the action.
Tip #2 – Attend at Least One Explore a College Session, One Workshop, and One Tour.
Whether you’ve already chosen a major or not, attend an Explore a College session. Declared students will learn more about what to expect from courses and departments and undeclared students have an opportunity to learn more about a potential major. During the day we will be offering multiple workshops for prospective students and newly admitted freshman and transfer students. These workshops offer guidance in making your transition to SDSU as smooth and successful as possible. This is also one of the only days students are offered tours of certain SDSU facilities such as Greek Life Housing and the new Audiology and Speech Language Clinic so take advantage of this inside look.
Tip #3 – Make Time for the Information Fair
Plan time to explore a few villages during our Information Fair, going on all day. This is your opportunity to interact with current students and get a real student perspective on academics, organizations, and campus life. They are here to help you start making SDSU your new home away from home.
Tip #4 – Visit the Bookstore
The SDSU Bookstore will be open all day Saturday so stop by and grab a sweatshirt, mug, or keychain to show off your Aztec Pride! You’ll also find great discounts on items like Apple computers, AT&T service, MAC Cosmetics, general books, and clothes. Plus, since you’ll be shopping during SDSU Month, all Aztec gear is 20% off.
Tip #5 – Extend your Stay on Campus
Explore SDSU is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., but campus activities don’t stop then. Check out the Explore SDSU agenda for open houses going until 4 pm. such as our DNA Sequencing Facility. You can also attend an SDSU Symphony Orchestra performance or grab some tickets to an Aztec softball or baseball game, which all take place after the main event.
